Should I Claim It?

Who writes and reviews this site

Insurance advice on the open web is often anonymous. Ours is not. Every page here has a named editorial owner and, where the topic is regulated, a review by a currently-licensed property & casualty agent. Their bios and license numbers are here.

Editorial

Kent Lansing, Founder & Editor. Writes and maintains the calculator, cost pages, state law breakdowns, and guides.

Licensed reviewer — role open

We're recruiting a currently-licensed property & casualty producer to review every page that discusses coverage, deductibles, claims practice, or state statutes. The reviewer's name, National Producer Number, and state of licensure will appear in the byline of every content page once retained.

If you're a licensed P&C agent interested in the role, see the position details.

How we keep it current

Every content page carries a visible "Last reviewed" date. When a state amends its glass statute, when a carrier changes a published rating rule, or when we complete a scheduled quarterly re-verification, we update the page and its date. State statute pages cite the primary source and are re-verified against it, not against an aggregator's summary of it. Live pricing on the calculator and cost pages is pulled on the visitor's request, not cached from a survey.

Corrections are welcome. If you find a fact we got wrong, tell us and we will fix it, credit you, and note the change in the page's revision history.

What we are not

We are not your insurance agent, your lawyer, or a substitute for either. We publish accurate information and math so you can make your own decision. When a question is genuinely close, the calculator says so instead of guessing, and the review line above is your prompt to check with the actual licensed people whose names are on the page.
