What we collect, where it goes, and what we never ask for. In plain English, because a privacy page you can't read isn't really a disclosure.
We never ask for your name, email, phone number, or policy number, and there is no account to create. The answer is never behind a form. We do measure how the site is used: our own measurement system records what happens in each visit, Google Analytics runs on every visit and sets Google cookies, and when the calculator looks up real glass prices we keep a record of the ZIP code, vehicle, and prices involved. We don't sell any of it, and none of it reaches an insurance company.
The question people actually worry about: does using this site tell my insurer anything? No. Nothing you type here goes to an insurance company, an agent, or the CLUE claim database. Running the numbers on this site is not a claim, not a report, and not on your record. That is the whole reason the site exists.
Every visit sends events to our own measurement service: which pages loaded, which calculator questions got answered and with what, which verdict appeared, and which buttons were clicked. Each visit gets a random session id that lives only in your browser's memory. Reload the page and it's a new id. This system sets no cookies and stores no IP address, no name, and nothing that identifies you. We use it to see where people get stuck and whether the calculator is actually answerable.
When the calculator fetches real prices, we save a record of the lookup: the ZIP code, the vehicle year, make, and model, the type of glass, the prices local shops quoted, and the session id. Nobody publishes what auto glass really costs, so we are building that record ourselves from the lookups people run. It is a record of prices, not of people. It is not connected to your name, because we never have your name.
Google Analytics runs on every visit and sets Google cookies in your browser. There is no consent banner and no opt-out switch on this site. If you'd rather not be counted, your browser's tracking protection or a content blocker will stop it, and every part of the site works fine without it. IP anonymization is turned on. The cookies page lists exactly which cookies are set and for how long.
Three companies are involved in running this site. Glass.net computes the shop prices, so price lookups send it the ZIP code and vehicle you entered; if you click through to request quotes, you are on Glass.net's site and their privacy policy applies from there. Google receives the analytics described above. Cloudflare hosts our measurement service and, like any host, handles the site's traffic to deliver it. That's the list. No data brokers, no ad networks of ours, no insurers.
No name, email, phone number, street address, VIN, policy number, or payment details. No account, ever. If a page on this site ever asks you to hand over contact information to see an answer, something has gone badly wrong and it isn't this site anymore.
